Step 1: Copy the Instagram link
In the Instagram app, open the Reel or video post. Tap the paper-plane icon (or the ⋯ menu), then Copy link. Public Reels, posts and IGTV videos all work.
Step 2: Paste it here in Chrome
Open this page in Chrome or Samsung Internet, not inside Instagram. Tap the box above, paste the link and tap Download MP4.
The tool fetches the original file from Instagram, which usually takes a few seconds. The download then starts on its own, and you'll see "Downloading — no watermark, no logo." If it doesn't start, tap the Download MP4 button that appears under the message.
You don't need an account. Without signing in you get 2 free downloads in a 24-hour window. After that, a quick Google sign-in keeps it free and unlimited.
Step 3: Find the video on your phone
Android saves the MP4 to the Download folder on your internal storage. A notification usually says the download is complete; tap Open to play it. If you missed it, here is where to look:
| Phone or app | Where to find it |
|---|---|
| Chrome | ⋮ menu → Downloads |
| Samsung Internet | ☰ menu → Downloads |
| Samsung Gallery | Albums → Download |
| Google Photos | Collections (or Library) → device folders → Download |
| Files by Google / My Files | Downloads |
The file name starts with the creator's Instagram username and ends with the video height, for example username ABC123 (1080p).mp4. Search for the username if your Downloads folder is crowded.
Once it's in Gallery, you can trim it, share it to WhatsApp or edit it in CapCut. It has no Instagram logo and no moving @username.
Want the sound only?
Switch the box above to MP3 audio before you tap download. You'll get an MP3 in the same Download folder. The Instagram video to MP3 page has more on audio.
If something goes wrong on Android
| Problem | Fix |
|---|---|
| Nothing happens when I tap Download | You're probably inside Instagram's built-in browser. Tap ⋮ and choose Open in Chrome, or copy this page's address into Chrome. |
| "That doesn't look like an Instagram Reel, post or IGTV link." | Copy the link again from the paper-plane menu. Profile links and Story links won't work. |
| "This post is private, age-restricted or a Story…" | Only public videos can be downloaded. Ask the creator for the file. |
| "This download link has expired." | Download links last 15 minutes. Paste the Instagram link again. |
| The video isn't in Gallery | Open Chrome's Downloads list first. Some gallery apps take a moment to show new files from the Download folder. |
| Chrome says "Can't download" or storage is full | Free up some space, then tap Download MP4 again. |

Why not use an Instagram downloader APK?
Many search results for Android point to APK files from outside the Play Store. You don't need one. A browser download gives you the same MP4, and nothing new gets installed on your phone or access to your storage.
Instagram's own Download option in the share menu isn't the same thing either: when it's available, it adds the Instagram logo and the creator's @username. Why Instagram downloads have a watermark explains the difference.
On an iPhone too?
iPhones save downloads to the Files app instead of Photos, which needs one extra step. See save Instagram video to iPhone.
For any public Reel or video, go back to the Instagram video downloader without watermark and paste the link.
